Studio Apartments for Sale in Phuket

This page lists Phuket projects that have at least one studio layout in our database — a unit with no separate bedroom, where the bed, sitting area and kitchenette share one room and only the bathroom has a door. A project qualifies by the layouts we have entered for it. If its layouts have not been entered yet, it will not appear here even if it sells studios; you will still find it on the main Phuket page. The reverse also holds: being listed does not mean studios are still available. The layout table shows "few left" or "sold out" when we have marked it, and a manager confirms availability with the developer. The page is for people coming to the island alone or as a couple for shorter stays, for buyers who want to start with the smallest format, and for those thinking about letting.

How the list is built

Thai developers name layouts by the number of bedrooms, and a studio is the one with none. Some separate the sleeping area with a partition or a wardrobe; others leave the room fully open. You can only tell from the unit floor plan, when it has been uploaded. The number of bathrooms is a separate field on the unit page.

Because the list follows layouts rather than building type, it is almost entirely condominiums. All Phuket condos, of every unit size, are on Phuket condos for sale, where the buying process for a condo unit is also explained.

Resort studio or town studio

Along the west coast — Kata, Karon, Kamala and Bang Tao — a studio is often part of a resort-style complex with a pool and on-site services. The unit is mostly a place to sleep; the day happens outside. If walking to the water matters, also see Phuket beachfront property; in the catalogue you can combine the bedroom filter with the near-sea filter.

In the middle of the island, in Kathu and Phuket Town, a studio is more of a long-let unit for people who live and work in Phuket. The beach is a drive away, while markets, hospitals and everyday local life are close.

Who a studio suits — and who it does not

A studio works for a solo winter stay or a few months of remote work, for a couple flying in for a few weeks at a time, and for a first purchase that lets you learn the island before committing to something bigger. It also suits a buyer looking for the smallest unit in a building to let.

It is a squeeze for a family with children, and for a couple staying the whole season when one of you works from home while the other is off. There is also little room to store belongings between visits. In those cases, look at one-bedroom apartments in Phuket instead.

Reading a studio unit page

In a studio every square metre counts, so open the unit page rather than relying on the project overview. These fields appear when they have been filled in:

  • Size, and in the layout table a price per square metre — useful for comparing a studio with a one-bedroom in the same building.
  • Unit floor plan — where the kitchenette sits relative to the bed, whether there is a balcony and which way it faces.
  • View and floor — a studio usually has one window, and whatever it looks at is your whole view.
  • Furnishing — bare shell, partly furnished or fully furnished.
  • Ownership — foreign quota or Thai quota, shown only once we have verified it for that unit.

Letting a studio

Studios are let either long-term to island residents or short-term to visitors. Nightly rentals are regulated separately in Thailand, and the building's regulations decide what is allowed, so ask a lawyer before you buy. In a complex with many identical studios, your unit competes with your neighbours' — ask a manager how many similar units the building has. Any yield shown on a project page is an agency estimate with a source and date, not a promise.

Next steps

Need a door between the bed and the living area? Move up to one-bedroom units. Travelling with children? See two-bedroom apartments in Phuket. Every project on the island is on Phuket property for sale, and the full search is in the catalogue.

Questions and answers

Can I register a studio in my own name?

In a condominium, a foreigner can generally register a unit in their own name if it falls within the building's foreign quota and the money was transferred from abroad. The unit page shows ownership only once we have verified it, and a manager re-checks it before you reserve. Have a lawyer review the terms before signing.

Why is a project listed when its studio is marked sold out?

The list follows the layouts entered for each project, not availability. Our team sets the "few left" and "sold out" marks by hand, and developers sometimes release more units. A manager will check what is actually free.

Do studios come furnished?

It varies. The unit page has a furnishing field — bare shell, partly or fully furnished — when it has been filled in. If it is missing, ask a manager, and get the furniture and appliance list written into the contract.

Is a studio comfortable for a whole season?

For one person who spends the day out, often yes. For two people, check the size and whether there is a balcony on the floor plan. If either of you works from home across time zones, a one-bedroom is usually the more comfortable choice.
